Mammootty Shares Intense First Look From Upcoming Spy Thriller Patriot Ahead Of Reported April Release

Tamil thriller Patriot, co-starring Mammootty, Mohanlal and Nayanthara in the lead roles, have released the first look posters of the amazing cast. The poster is a dark silhouette of the superstar as the caption hinted at a big announcement for tomorrow (January 26) on the perfect occasion of Republic day. Although there has been no official announcement on the release date of the film, sources in the industry had said that the film will likely to hit screens on April 23 this year as they were quick to decipher that the poster had a bit of morse code on it. Earlier posters of Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Rajiv Menon were released which created more excitement on the release.

Mammootty's look from upcoming film Patriot

Taking to his official Instagram handle, Mammootty has shared a first look poster from the upcoming film Patriot while suggesting a major announcement on 10:10 am as they asked the netizens to "Set your reminder" for the Republic Day. Along with this, makers also revealed Nayanthara and Mohanlal's first look from this spy action drama. Take a look at the poster:

Mammootty role in the film

Mammootty plays Dr Daniel James, who must clear his name following serious allegations, while Mohanlal portrays Colonel Rahim. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, Patriot brings together a star-studded cast also including Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, and Nayanthara (in her cameo role). The film is anticipated to be one of Malayalam cinema’s most anticipated releases of 2026.

Patriot teaser

The teaser begins with a voiceover that says, " I remember there was a time when this nation was controlled by the two of them. Together. Over these years, what they earned wasn't just followers. Faith. Trust." Nayanthara is heard asking, "This program which is part of the student laptop scheme. Is that similar to Periscope?" We also hear another voice, asking,"Is this program watching them secretly?" The teaser ends with Mammootty asking someone to complete the sentence, "Great Indian traitor... or Patriot."

The film also marks Nayanthara's reunion with Mammootty after 2016 release Puthiya Niyamam and Mohanlal and Mammotty's reunion after a whole decade. The duo last worked together in Kadal Kadannoru Maathukutty (2013). Stay tuned for more updates!
