Both Ishaan and Vishal have starred in Homebound. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, Homebound was inspired by the 2020 New York Times essay Taking Amrit Home. The story brought together two powerful journeys of ambition, struggle, and freedom. Set in the small town of Mapur, it followed two friends - Mohammed Shoaib Ali (Ishaan Khatter) and Chandan Kumar Valmiki (Vishal Jethwa) - who tried to rise above social barriers and change their lives.The film has been selected for India's official entry for the Oscars 2026.
