Anjala was born in Portsmouth, England, to a Gujarati NRI family. She decided to enter Bollywood and landed her first acting job with Pankaj Parashar's Himalya Putra, which introduced Akshaye Khanna. She was discovered by Akshaye's father, Vinod Khanna, through a nationwide talent search in England. The 1997 Hindi film Himalya Putra also starred veterans such as Vinod Khanna, Hema Malini, and Danny Denzongpa. Unfortunately, the film did not perform well at the box office. Anjala went on to make her South debut with the Telugu film Preminchukundam Raa. Her other Hindi films included Betaabi, Muskaan, and the Salman Khan and Kajol starrer Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya. The actress had more success with Tamil and Telugu films. Anjala was considered to be a lucky charm for actor Chiranjeevi and earned laurels for her roles in Shankar Dada M.B.B.S. and Samarasimha Reddy. Anjala Zaveri's personal life

In 2012, Anjala gave up acting after the Telugu film Life Is Beautiful and keeps a low profile. She and actor-model Tarun Arora married after dating for a while. The couple has no children. Tarun is best known for his roles in the films Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and Jab We Met in Bollywood. Like Anjala, he has ventured out to act in South industries.
