Odia music composer Abhijit Majumdar passed away on Sunday (January 25) due to multiple health issues. He had been admitted to AIIMS in Bhubaneswar, where he breathed his last. Abhijit was 54. As per reports, Abhijit Majumdar's condition deteriorated on Saturday night. He was on life support before his demise. Majumdar had been suffering from multiple health issues such as hypertension, hypothyroidism and chronic liver disease. He was in hospital to get treatment for chronic liver disease. Unfortunately, the famous musician succumbed to his illness and died today. Abhijit is survived by his wife, Ranjita Majumdar, and a son.

All About Abhijit Majumdar's Career

Abhijit Majumdar was a famous music composer in Odia film industry, which is also known as Ollywood. Abhijit started his career in 1991 from Sambalpuri industry. From 2000, he actively started working in Ollywood. In his career, Abhijit Majumdar had composed more than 700 songs for Odia movies, albums and Sambalpuri industry.

Some of his memorable films are Love Story, Sister Sridevi, Golmaal Love, Mr Majnu, Sriman Surdas, Sundergarh Ra Salman Khan and so on. Abhijit Majumdar's last film as a music composer is going to be Poglu which is releasing later this year.

Abhijit Majumdar had been admitted to the AIIMS Hospital, Bhubaneshwar on September 4. He was in critical condition and was put on ventilator. His condition remained fragile for many weeks due to his multiple health issues. On December 31, the doctors revealed that Abhijit Majumdar showed some improvement and was likely to get discharged in the next two days. However, the destiny had other plans as the music composer health deteriorated once again. After his demise, many netizens, his fans and renowned personalities from the Odia film industry have been mourning the death of Abhijit Majumdar on social media.

Tribute To Abhijit Majumdar

Abhijit Majumdar's demise is indeed a big loss for the Odia film industry. He was known for composing famous songs in Ollywood. Former actor-Odisha MLA, Akash Das Nayak mourned the demise of Abhijit Majumdar on X. He wrote, "I am deeply saddened by the passing of renowned playback singer and music director Abhijit Majumdar. His remarkable contribution to the film and music industry will always be remembered. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Om Shanti."
