As confirmed by his agency on May 4, 2026, the actor will enlist as an active-duty soldier on May 18. He is expected to be on a break for one year and six months while serving the country. As per reports, Jae-Wook is planning to quietly enter the training centre without any formal ceremony. On the other hand, despite his enlistment, he will remain engaged with viewers through his ongoing projects, including his role in ENA’s upcoming drama Doctor on the Edge.

Lee Jae-Wook is preparing to temporarily step away from his acting career to serve his country from May 18. He isexpected to return after 18 months. His agency, Log Studio, confirmed the date in a statement following an initial report by
STARNEWS, saying simply, "Lee Jae Wook will be enlisting as an active duty soldier on May 18." He is anticipated to return to the screen in November 2027 after completing his service.
