Popular Kannada actor Mysore Srikantayya Umesh, fondly known as Umesh, is no more. He reportedly breathed his last on Sunday (November 30). He later went on to join the renowned Gubbi Veeranna troupe before making his full-fledged acting debut.He rose to fame after playing the lead role in Makkala Rajya in 1960. Over the years, he acted in notable films such as Nagara Hole, Guru Shishyaru, Anupama, Kaamana Billu, and Venkata in Sankata.His journey, however, was not without hurdles. After a slow phase early in his career, he returned to theatre for a while. But he refused to give up on his dream and made a big comeback in 1977 with Katha Sangama, after which his film career flourished.Condolences Pour InChief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah paid a tribute to the legendary Sandalwood actor.
