Vijay on his retirement
Confirming his retirement, Vijay told his fans at the
Jana Nayagan audio launch in Malaysia, “For me, one thing matters. People come and stand in theatres for me. For that reason, I’m ready to stand for them for the next 30–33 years. For these Vijay fans, I’m stepping away from cinema.”He added, “I’ve faced every kind of criticism right from day one, the same old story. But my fans have stood by me from the very beginning, supporting me relentlessly for 33 years. That’s why, for the fans who stood for me, I will stand for them. This Vijay will repay his debt of gratitude.”
About Jana Nayagan
Jana Nayagan’s trailer released on January 3. It showcases Thalapathy Vijay in powerful avatars, including striking moments in a police uniform, while also revealing his deeply personal side as a father. His relationship with his daughter, played by Mamita Baiju, emerges as the emotional anchor of the narrative. A standout line about raising her “like a tigress” blends strength with vulnerability, underscoring the values he fights for and the future he seeks to protect. Standing firmly as the villain is Bobby Deol. Produced by Venkat K. Narayana under KVN Productions, H Vinoth directs the film.
