is ready to rumble for his next film, Chiru Bobby 2, aka Mega 158. The actor is gearing up to begin his next action film, which is slated to be launched on May 21. Directed by Bobby Kolli, it is produced by KVN Productions. The veteran actor was seen in a new video where he is training hard at the gym for the Telugu action entertainer. Earlier this year, Chiranjeevi underwent two surgeries, one for his knee after an injury and another for minor shoulder keyhole surgery. However, in the video, the actor shows no signs of slowing down. Check out the video below!
Chiranjeevi's intense workout before Mega 158 launch
On Instagram, Chiranjeevi shared a behind-the-scenes look at his insane gym session. The septuagenarian was seen lifting weights and exercising his arms and legs on several machines around the gym. The actor has been training to get ready for his next film with Bobby Kolli after their 2023 collaboration
Waltair Veerayya, which also starred Ravi Teja, Shruti Haasan, Catherine Tresa, and Prakash Raj.
Responding to Chiranjeevi's video, director Bobby stated that every time he watches the veteran actor train with intensity and passion, he is reminded of how "Annayya" inspires generations. He shared that he was excited to create something magical again together. Bobby added, "The fire, discipline and hunger in you are simply unmatched. It’s pushing me to dream bigger and work harder for #Mega158."The upcoming Telugu film is said to be a high-voltage entertainer with music by SS Thaman. KVN Productions is making their Telugu debut with the film, which is expected to be released on Sankranti 2027. The rest of the cast will probably be revealed at the grand launch of
Mega 158 as well. Besides Mega 158, Chiranjeevi is also expected to work on the films
Vishwambhara and
Chiru Odela with Srikanth Odela later this year.
More about Chiranjeevi's minor surgery
On February 16, the veteran actor shared an update on his health as he informed fans and well-wishers that he underwent
minor surgery. Chiranjeevi also shared a photo of himself in an arm sling with his arthroscopy surgeon, Dr. Nithin. "It was just a minor shoulder keyhole surgery," he wrote on X. After the surgery, Chiranjeevi had shared that he was recovering well and already getting back to his routine.
In January, Chiranjeevi also had knee surgery for a previous injury. The 70-year-old has bounced back fast after two surgeries in a year.
