British actor Charles Dance, who played Tywin Lannister in HBO's Game of Thrones, is about to set foot in the DC Studios universe. The actor is in talks to join Robert Pattinson's superhero in The Batman Part II. Written and directed by Matt Reeves, the sequel is about to start filming this spring. Alongside Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell are returning as Jim Gordon, Alfred Pennyworth, and the Penguin, respectively. However, Dance is set to play another strong patriarch, as the reports have suggested.
Charles Dance to join Dent family in The Batman Part II
According to a report in
Deadline, Dance will play Charles Dent in the upcoming movie. The rumoured reports suggest that Sebastian Stan is set to play Gotham City District Attorney Harvey Dent, while Scarlett Johansson will play his wife, Gilda Dent. There is great excitement to see the Marvel stars join the DC Universe. Fans also know that Dent is also Two-Face in the film.
Dance seems to be a good fit for the role after he became a household name playing Tywin Lannister, father of twins Cersei (Lena Headey) and Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage). There was no love lost in House Lannister, which was one of the most powerful and dangerous families in Westeros. The show completed 15 years on April 17. The actor's recent roles include playing Dr. Frankenstein’s (Oscar Isaac) father in Guillermo del Toro’s
Frankenstein on Netflix. Last year, he was part of the Peacock series
Day of the Jackal which has been renewed for Season 2.
