Akshay
Kumar and Vidya Balan, who previously shared the screen in hits like Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), Heyy Babyy (2007), and Mission Mangal (2019), are set to reunite for a new comedy-drama directed by Anees Bazmee. A few days ago, Akshay confirmed the film by sharing a video featuring him and Vidya boarding a plane to Kerala to kick off filming. Now, on May 5, Akshay shared a picture with Vidya and also Raashii Khanna and mentioned that their Kerala schedule has been wrapped up. The actor also wrote a sweet note calling the crew "incredible."

Akshay Kumar shared a picture where he, Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna can be seen smiling for the camera as they finished their Kerala schedule. Sharing the picture, Akshay expressed his excitement in the caption, saying that nothing beats working with good people in a beautiful place. He also extended his gratitude to director Anees Bazmee for his energetic direction and praised his co-stars Vidya and Raashii, and the entire crew, adding that this project had been particularly special for him.

Speaking about their work front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in
Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, marking the actor-director duo’s reunion after 14 years. The film follows Arjun Maurya (Akshay), who travels to his ancestral village of Mangalpur to arrange his sister’s (Mithila Palkar) wedding at their family palace. Despite warnings from the caretaker Shantaram (Asrani) about a local legend, a demon named Vadhusur who makes brides vanish on their wedding night, Arjun remains skeptical. But soon, he must face the legend firsthand.The film’s ensemble also includes Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jisshu Sengupta, and Rajesh Sharma, offering a multi-generational mix of talent in this comedy-drama.
Vidya Balan was recently seen in
Raja Shivaji, directed by and starring Riteish Deshmukh as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film chronicles Shivaji’s rise from youth to establishing Swarajya, highlighting his battles against the Mughals and Adil Shahis. In the film, Vidya portrays Badi Begum, the influential ruler of the Bijapur Sultanate and mother of Ali Adil Shah II, who stands in opposition to Shivaji Maharaj.
The film has been performing decently at the box office. On the other hand, Raashii is set to be seen in an upcoming OTT series titled
Lukkhe. The show also features King, Lakshvir Singh Saran, Nakul Roshan Sahdev, Kritika Bharadwaj, Shivankit Parihar, Yograj Singh, and Ayesha Raza Mishra.
