The
Drama, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, has arrived on the OTT. In a surprise update, the movie made its digital debut just within 32 days of theatrical release, leaving cinephiles amused. A movie, by general norms, begins streaming only after ending its big screen run, which lasts anywhere from 3 months or more. The Drama, which released on April 3, 2026, however, went against the flow, leaving the audience happy yet confused. Directed by Kristoffer Borgli, The Drama is an intense romantic drama with psychological undertones. It had emerged as a sleeper hit of the spring season this year.
Where is The Drama releasing on OTT?
The Drama is backed by A24. Based on typical A24 distribution patterns, its films stream on platforms like Max (formerly HBO Max) after theatrical release. On May 4, reports have its digital premiere and will be available to buy or rent on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home from May 5. A spokesperson from A24 confirmed the same to USA TODAY.
The report stated that the price may vary depending on which platform the audience buys it. On Amazon, the film costs $24.99 to pre-order a digital copy. This is primarily for the US market. In India and other Asian countries, the release is expected in the coming weeks. The Drama DVD release has not yet been announced.
About The Drama
The Drama follows a couple whose relationship begins to unravel just days before their wedding. What starts as a seemingly perfect romance slowly exposes deeper emotional conflicts, secrets, and unresolved trauma. As tensions rise, the film explores love, identity, and the fragility of modern relationships, with both characters confronting uncomfortable truths about themselves and each other. Expect a character-driven narrative rather than a traditional romance.
Zendaya and
Robert Pattinson play a happily engaged couple whose relationship is tested by an unexpected revelation during the week before their wedding. The dark secret, which came as a major plot twist, initially left fans shocked and divided. The film also stars Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, and Hailey Gates in supporting roles. In an interview, Robert Pattinson has said that some parts of The Drama were hard to understand, even though most of the story's secrets are still secret. He told Premiere magazine that he wrote a lot of notes about one scene and even called Zendaya the night before shooting to talk about it for almost two hours. Pattinson felt better about the scene after Zendaya told him that the dialogue was exactly what it said.
