Vijay, who is currently busy during the election campaign of the Tamil Nadu assembly elections 2026 for his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has expressed his grief over the death of more than 20 people in a fireworks factory blast in Kattanipatti. For the unversed, the incident happened in the Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday (April 19). More than 20 people were killed, and several others got injured in a blast at a fireworks manufacturing unit. The intensity of the blast was so much that it not only damaged the factory but also nearly all the buildings. The workers were trapped under the debris.

Thalapathy Vijay took to his political party TVK's official handle on X and shared his reaction to the Tamil Nadu fireworks factory blast. In a note, the actor stated that he is deeply saddened after learning of the tragic explosion at a fireworks factory that claimed more than 20 lives. He has extended his heartfelt condolences to their families. He wishes people who got injured would recover swiftly. He is praying to the divine for the souls of the departed to attain eternal peace. While concluding the chat, he promised people that if he gets elected, then his government will give appropriate measures to safeguard the welfare of workers of the fireworks industry.
