Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 is running the box office race for the Rs 1000 crore milestone in India. While its gross collection has touched the mark, its net earnings are over Rs 800 crore. Amid its unstoppable run at the box office, the makers re-released the film in theatres worldwide. The decision was taken based on an editing error in the version that released on March 19. The internet brought it to director Aditya’s notice, and without wasting much time, the team came together for the final touch-up.

What changes were made to Dhurandhar 2's original print before re-release

According to Bollywood Hungama’s report, Dhurandhar 2 has been re-released with a correction. After the film released on Ugadi and Eid on March 19, the audience found an editing error in one of the key fight sequences. The director of photography Vikash Nowlakha could be seen in the mirror reflection during Ranveer Singh and Udaybir Sandhu’s fight in the bathroom. The internet compared it with a similar blunder in The Dark Knight, made by Christopher Nolan.

Dhurandhar 2 re-releases with corrections

As per the report, the new prints of Dhurandhar 2 went to theatres over the weekend. Some screens received on Saturday, whereas some got on Sunday. A source told the portal that the DoP is no longer seen in the mirror reflection. The correct version will be played on OTT and satellite.

What was the error in Dhurandhar 2?

In the said sequence, Ranveer’s Hamza is in a hand-to-hand combat with his childhood friend and now drug smuggler Gurbaaz Singh, aka Pinda. The latter recognises him as Jaskirat Singh Rangi and questions his absence over the years. When Pinda tries to harm Jaskirat, he attacks him in defence. The fight goes on for a couple of minutes. Vikash was seen for a fraction of a second before the focus moved back to Ranveer and Udaybir.

Dhurandhar 2 box office collection

Dhurandhar 2 earned Rs 81.51 crore on Sunday (March 29). The India net collection of the film after its second weekend is Rs 846.87 crore. Its gross collection is Rs 1,011.95 crore. According to Sacnilk, Dhurandhar 2’s worldwide gross is Rs 1,361.95 crore.
