Kalyani Priyadarshan, one of the leading Mollywood stars, is reportedly making her Bollywood debut this year. After the global success of her Malayalam superhero film, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, Kalyani is topping
every filmmaker’s list. While she is yet to make an official announcement regarding her Bollywood foray, industry sources confirm that the Lokah star has signed Jai Mehta’s upcoming film, titled Pralay. Amid rumours of Ranveer Singh reuniting with Alia Bhatt for the film, it seems Kalyani made the cut as the leading lady. While she had the biggest hit of Malayalam cinema in 2025, Ranveer brought the tsunami called Dhurandhar to the box office in December last year.
Is Kalyani Priyadarshan foraying into Bollywood with Pralay?
According to reports, Kalyani is playing the lead opposite Ranveer. On January 3, the actress shared a picture on Instagram Story and tagged Jai, the director of
Pralay. The novel that she is reading currently is titled Blindness by José Saramago. Kalyani thanked Jai for the gift. The novel’s synopsis reads, “In a provocative parable of loss, disorientation, and weakness, a city is hit by an epidemic of "white blindness" whose victims are confined to a vacant mental hospital, while a single eyewitness to the nightmare guides seven oddly assorted strangers through the barren urban landscape.”
Amid speculations, Mukesh Chhabra, a popular casting director, revealed on X that he is working on
Pralay. His tweet hinted that the rumour of Kalyani’s Bollywood debut is true. His tweet read, “Can’t wait to start #Pralay. Very excited!”
