came together in a moment of grief and remembrance as stars arrived to pay their respects at Dharmendra’s prayer meet in Mumbai. The legendary actor, who passed away on November 24 at the age of 89, was honoured by family, friends and colleagues in an intimate gathering titled Celebration of Life. The Deol family bid him a quiet farewell on Monday, and it is now being followed by a prayer meet organised for industry members and loved ones.
Salman, Aishwarya attend Dharmendra’s prayer meet
At the prayer meet held at Taj Lands End in Bandra on November 27, Salman Khan was among the first to be spotted arriving. The actor, who had personally visited Dharmendra in the hospital earlier, was seen entering the venue in his car as paparazzi captured the moment. His presence reflected the deep respect he has always expressed for the late superstar.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was also seen arriving with her husband Abhishek Bachchan. The actor opted for a simple white salwar kameez, keeping in line with the sombre occasion. The couple joined others from the fraternity in offering prayers and condolences to the grieving family.
Celebration of Life gathering for Dharmendra
The prayer meet, titled
Celebration of Life, featured a young photograph of Dharmendra at the entrance, symbolising the charm and charisma with which he ruled Indian cinema for decades. The meet was held from 5 pm to 7:30 pm. As per reports, singer Sonu Nigam is set to perform some of Dharmendra’s classic songs as a tribute to the legend. Dharmendra, a recipient of the Padma Bhushan and a former Member of Parliament from Bikaner (BJP), was cremated without state honours. The Deol family reportedly chose not to proceed with a state funeral.With industry members gathering in solidarity, the prayer meet is as an emotional reminder of Dharmendra’s monumental legacy and the deep love he inspired across generations.
