BTS
are doing everything to impress ARMYs after their comeback. From the chill vibe of SWIM and the dark humour of 2.0 to now taking a darker, edgier persona in their latest music video, the Bangtan Boys are here to rule over the world. The global k-pop group, comprising RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have dropped the choreo-heavy video for Hooligan, which is so fresh alongside being a little nostalgic. Dressed in all-black ensembles and surrounded by haunting imagery, the septet taps into a rebellious, almost dystopian energy in the much awaited Hooligan music video.
Hooligan music video out now
The music video opens in a dimly lit parking garage, immediately drawing comparisons to their 2017 hit Not Today. The setting is a deliberate nod to their past music video which is still loved by BTS ARMYs. As the beat drops with the line “goin’ hooligan,” masked dancers come out, setting the stage for a high-energy performance filled with tension and symbolism. A mysterious girl (played by model Soojoo) wielding a sword shows the powerful themes of resistance and chaos.
Throughout the video, BTS deliver awe-inspiring and tightly synchronised choreography across a series of fog-filled landscapes. One of the standout moments features the group assembled atop a bold red platform, with masked performers weaving around them as a towering, palace-like structure looms in the background. The visuals are both cinematic and symbolic. Unlike the other two music videos from ARIRANG, this one feels a bit more uneasy to watch, which makes it perfect for a track like Hooligan. In another striking sequence, the members walk through a dark, wind-swept corridor while people float eerily overhead, defying gravity.
The masked concept, teased earlier by the group, plays a central role in the video’s storytelling. The choreography is definitely the backbone of the video, showing BTS’ precision while giving out a raw, almost confrontational energy.Watch the music video here:
