Travis Knight's Masters of the Universe, starring Nicholas Galitzine as the hero Prince Adam/He-Man is slated to release across theatres on June 5. The film will also be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages in India. of these, the Telugu version will see Karthikeya actor Nikhil Siddhartha essay the voice of Nicholas' He-Man in the film. On learning, we reached out to a visibly excited Nikhil on why he chose to take up the role. Here's what the actor, who will soon be seen in Swayambhu had to say.Speaking exclusively to Zoom, Nikhil revealed one of the first reasons he said yes to the project was the brands involved that included names such as Sony Pictures and Amazon MGM Studios. However, Siddhartha quickly added that the reasons were
extremely personal as well. "The iconic tiger, memories from childhood, the symbolism, it was a big yes for me. And I am a proper nineties child, you know. I am a grown up now, but I grew up in the eighties and nineties. I used to have toys of He-Man. I even had He-Man's Battle Cat well as different vehicles and different animals for different characters. I used to have all those toys."
Nikhil also went on to reveal, “Just the childhood memory of mine of being such a huge He-Man fan excited me to take up the project and it's been mounted on a massive scale.”The Swayambhu actor also shared that no one will be disappointed on seeing He-Man. “No expense has been spared,” he expressed, adding, “The VFX looks fantastic. It looks on par with the best of the best. It's going to be a visually grand experience on screen. And I thought I should be associated with this project, not just for the nostalgia factor, but also for the span and the way they've shot it.”But, above everything else, turns out Nikhil is indeed a true blue He-Man fan. The actor excitedly went back to the viraity of the Mattel creation. “I've grown up watching He-Man. Most of the cartoons we used to watch or the comics that we used to read, were about He-Man fighting Skeletor or what happened after he's become He-Man. But this movie actually deals with how he has become He-Man.” Elaborating on the back story, Nikhil shared that Adam (Prince) is a guy who is stuck on Earth and he's a very day-to-day guy next door. The film, according to the actor is on how he turns out to become He-Man and the fact that “many people do not know the story.”“I really thought this was something which could be the beginning of many, beautiful parts to come along with the fact that childhood nostalgia helped me and I thought this film should be told to all the He-Man fans because they would know how He-Man actually became himself,” Nikhil signed off.Alongside Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man, Masters of the Universe features an ensemble cast including Camila Mendes, Jared Leto, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Kristen Wiig, Morena Baccarin, and Idris Elba. The film follows Prince Adam’s journey back to Eternia, where he must embrace his destiny as He-Man and lead the fight against the sinister Skeletor to save his home world.
