Korean actor Gong Myung has sparked concern among fans after reports confirmed that he has been hospitalised due to sudden hearing loss, forcing the cancellation of filming for his upcoming drama. Best known to global audiences for his role in Love Untangled, the actor is currently receiving treatment and resting as doctors monitor his condition. Gong Myung experiences sudden hearing loss

According to a report by Newsis on December 30, Gong Myung experienced sudden sensorineural hearing loss and was promptly admitted to the hospital. As a result, filming for tvN’s forthcoming drama Secret Audit (literal title), which was scheduled to take place that day, was officially cancelled. The decision was made to prioritise the actor’s health and recovery.Sudden sensorineural hearing loss, often referred to as sudden deafness, is a condition marked by a rapid decline in hearing ability that can occur either instantly or over a short period of a few days. It typically affects one or both ears without clear warning signs and is frequently accompanied by symptoms such as tinnitus or dizziness, both of which Gong Myung reportedly experienced.As per reports, Gong Myung complained of dizziness, which led to the suspension of filming. The actor is expected to resume filming on January 2.

Gong Myoung’s agency issues statement

Gong Myung’s agency, Saram Entertainment, also confirmed the development in an official statement. They said, “Gong Myoung is currently hospitalised due to dizziness and is receiving treatment while recovering. He is expected to return to the filming set later this week.” The agency stated that his condition is being closely monitored and that he is focusing entirely on recovery before returning to work.Secret Audit marks one of Gong Myung’s highly anticipated projects. The romantic comedy revolves around Joo In-Ah, played by Shin Hae-Sun, a sharp and charismatic head of an audit office who harbours a secret. Gong Myung stars as Noh Ki-Joon, an ace auditor who is unexpectedly demoted and tasked with handling internal scandal cases. The drama began filming in September and is slated to air on tvN in the first half of next year.While the temporary halt in production has caused a brief disruption, both the production team and fans are hopeful that Gong Myoung will make a full recovery soon.
