The main reason behind the same is to boost the pace of responses in terms of advancements so that the company can outclass its rivals as soon as they can. He said, 'It's good to be paranoid and act quickly when a potential competitive threat emerges.'Sam Altman said that Google Gemini 3 did not have that big of an impact on his firm, but yes OpenAI could have shown improvement in multiple areas. He said that the drop of Google Gemini 3 was pretty similar to what the company faced at the time of DeekSeek launch. According to Sam Altman, the Code Red alerts at OpenAI will be a continuous practice every time any of their competitors is trying to outclass them. He said, 'My guess is we'll be doing these once maybe twice a year for a long time, and that's part of really just making sure that we win in our space.'OpenAI has been pretty quick in terms of issuing a response against Google Gemini 3 by dropping the ChatGPT 5.2 model.
