Thalapathy
Vijay has secured a massive political victory in the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections. Following this, several fans and celebrities have been extending their wishes to him. The latest to do so is Samuthirakani. On May 9, the actor was seen exiting the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple along with producer Bunny Vas, director Meher Ramesh, and Prabhas’ aunt. Speaking to the press, Samuthirakani shared his congratulatory wishes for the TVK chief. His message comes days after an alleged video of him criticising Trisha Krishnan surfaced online, followed by Vijay and Trisha’s public appearance together.
Samuthirakani Congratulates Thalapathy Vijay Amid Leaked Convo Criticising TVK Chief And Trisha
Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam emerged as the single-largest party with 108 seats, falling just 10 short of the majority mark. Talking about the massive debut, Samuthirakani referred to Vijay as “Chief Minister.” He said that what people had witnessed so far was only the beginning and that several obstacles still lay ahead, which Vijay would handle with ease. He ended the interaction with his trademark line, “Velvom” (we will succeed).
A few days ago, Samuthirakani allegedly spoke about Vijay and Trisha’s public appearance together at a wedding. What appeared to be a leaked video clip soon went viral online. The clip showed Samuthirakani speaking emotionally, leading many to interpret his comments as criticism of the duo’s appearance together at the event.
What Did Samuthirakani Say About Trisha and Vijay?
Samuthirakani confirmed that the viral video was genuine. However, he refrained from directly naming anyone involved. He revealed that he was aware someone was recording the conversation at the time. According to him, his comments came from a place of concern and honesty rather than judgment. He also stated that he does not consider the circulation of the clip a major issue.
He said that the video had been exaggerated online, with people adding “extra spice” to the narrative. Despite the backlash, he maintained that he stood by his remarks. The actor-director also shared that a stunt master had warned him that the conversation could be recorded and leaked. However, he chose not to hold back his views. For those unaware, Vijay and Trisha attended the wedding reception of producer Kalpathi S. Suresh’s son in Chennai on March 5, 2026, which led to speculation about their closeness.
Samuthirakani’s Upcoming Projects
On the work front, Samuthirakani will next be seen in Jai Hanuman starring Rishab Shetty. He is also working on his own Tamil directorial project and will appear in Nandamuri Balakrishna and Gopichand Malineni’s upcoming Telugu film.
