Suman’s rise in music has been shaped by perseverance and family support. His father, Pulak Mukhopadhyay, served as a police constable, while his mother, Nita Mukhopadhyay, managed the household. Recognising her son’s passion for music at an early age, his mother saved money to buy him a harmonium—an act that laid the foundation for his formal musical training.An academically accomplished musician, Suman completed his schooling at Ramakrishna Vidyapith High School in Suri before pursuing both graduation and post-graduation in music from Rabindra Bharati University. His dedication earned him a Governor’s Award for academic excellence during his university years.Now based in Kolkata, Suman continues to perform at various programmes while also teaching music. His journey took a decisive turn in 2022 when his song renditions shared on social media caught Sonu Nigam’s attention.
