Bettany will return as Vision, one last time, in Marvel's upcoming Disney+ series, VisionQuest. Marvel Studios, on May 12, officially lifted the curtain on the highly anticipated conclusion to the WandaVision trilogy. During Disney's 2026 Upfronts presentation in New York City, it confirmed one of the MCU's most awaited titles that's been in the making, keeping fans on the edge for a long time. VisionQuest follows the next major chapter in Vision's journey after WandaVision and Agatha All Along, and is already being viewed as a crucial emotional and narrative bridge for the future of Marvel's Phase Six, with the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
VisionQuest release date
Marvel Television announced that VisionQuest will debut on October 14, 2026, on Disney+. The announcement came during Disney's annual Upfronts event, where studios unveil major upcoming projects to advertisers and media partners. Robert Downey Jr, and Tom Hiddleston also joined Paul Bettany during the showcase event.
About VisionQuest
VisionQuest is a spinoff with Paul Bettany returning as Vision, the beloved android and Avenger, to headline the show. It is said to take place after the events of WandaVision, in which the character returned after Thanos killed him in Avengers: Infinity War (2018). As per reports, VisionQuest shows the White Vision version last seen flying away at the end of WandaVision after regaining his memories. The series is expected to explore identity, consciousness, artificial intelligence, and what it truly means to be human, the themes that have always defined the character.
VisionQuest cast and returning AI characters
The cast is packed with major MCU connections. James Spader returns as Ultron for the first time since Avengers: Age of Ultron, a reveal that has generated enormous excitement among Marvel fans. The ensemble also includes Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff / Speed, James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S., and Todd Stashwick as Paladin, reprising their parts. Other "AI Personifications" include T'Nia Miller as Jocasta, Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H. (
Spider-Man: Far From Home), and Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y. The series is created by showrunner Terry Matalas, best known for his acclaimed work on Star Trek: Picard. Terry's involvement is a strong sign that VisionQuest may lean into cerebral science fiction and emotional storytelling rather than conventional superhero action.
Plot details of VisionQuest
While plot details remain tightly guarded, reports suggest the story follows Vision as he attempts to reconstruct his identity after the events of WandaVision. Early footage and descriptions hint at surreal mindscapes, AI manifestations, and philosophical confrontations tied to Ultron and Vision's fragmented memories. Industry insiders have described the series as the final part of Marvel's WandaVision trilogy.
Where to stream VisionQuest in India?
VisionQuest will consist of eight episodes, releasing weekly. Across the globe, it'll land on Disney+, though the streamer in India is yet to be revealed. But in all probability, it could be JioHotstar.
