3 continues its dream run at the box office with impressive collections during its opening weekend. The film has now emerged as the second-biggest opening weekend grosser in Malayalam cinema history. Drishyam 3 continued its sensational run at the box office on Day 4, posting strong numbers across India and overseas markets. The mystery crime thriller witnessed a slight jump in collections on its first Sunday and cemented its position among Mollywood’s biggest openers.
With Rs 54.55 crore in four days, Drishyam 3 has emerged as the second-biggest opening weekend grosser in Malayalam cinema history. The top spot still belongs to
L2: Empuraan, which collected Rs 59 crore during its extended four-day opening weekend. Interestingly, the latest Mohanlal starrer has already surpassed the entire first-week collection of his previous blockbuster
Thudarum, which had earned Rs 51.4 crore in seven days. According to early trade estimates, the film Drishyam has earned Rs 13.95 crore net in India on Day 4, registering a 1.8 percent increase from Day 3’s Rs 13.70 crore. With this, the film’s total India net collection now stands at Rs 54.55 crore, while the India gross collection has climbed to Rs 63.34 crore.

L2: Empuraan released is an action thriller directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopy. Made on a massive budget of Rs 150–175 crore, the film released in theatres on March 27, 2025 and it is regarded as the most expensive Malayalam film ever made. Upon release, the film received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics.
Despite the response, L2: Empuraan emerged as a massive commercial success, becoming the first Malayalam film to cross Rs 250 crore worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time and the tenth highest-grossing Indian film of 2025.

Apart from dominating the domestic market, Drishyam 3 has also emerged as a major success overseas. The film collected Rs 13 crore internationally on Day 4, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 78 crore. Strong support from audiences in the Gulf region, North America and Europe has boosted the film’s worldwide performance. Within just four days, the Mohanlal-led thriller has amassed a staggering worldwide gross collection of Rs 141.34 crore.
