BIGBANG members G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung support T.O.P.'s new album
On Instagram, the current members of BIGBANG all posted T.O.P.'s newest post featuring the special album cover of Another Dimension by the legendary artist Ed Ruscha. The Korean rapper and actor has not responded to his former bandmates' support.
In his new album, T.O.P. has seemingly acknowledged his departure for the boy band. In the song Ovaya, he sings, "It's beautiful when we all go our separate ways." While another line states, "All the silly videos of this world, new post, 'When will you comeback?' It's still awful, awful (awful)."The track Studio54 actually mentions the group as the singer proclaims, "I'm so sorry but I lovеd the BIGBANG of my twenties, say less." The rapper-turned-actor has been very candid about his first musical release after leaving the group. He revealed that he has spent the last decade working on music and Another Dimension has been all about redefining himself. In an interview, T.O.P. shared that the album was about organising his past self and crossing into a new chapter. He doesn't want to repeat his past and looked forward to gaining a new identity.
History with BIGBANG
T.O.P's debut music came in 2006 with
BIGBANG. The K-pop boy band, made up of T.O.P., Taeyang, G-Dragon, Daesung, and Seungri, was considered one of the most influential groups of all time from South Korea. Seungri was removed from BIGBANG after his involvement with the Burning Sun nightclub scandal went public. In 2023, T.O.P. left the group; he was investigated and
indicted for marijuana use in 2017 when he was completing his military duties.
Later this month, BIGBANG’s Taeyang, G-Dragon, and Daesung are set to perform at Coachella. They are celebrating their 20th debut anniversary in 2026 with a global tour and major comeback.
