Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla has released in theatres. The makers of the horror comedy directed by Priyadarshan opened the ticket counters for paid previews on Thursday from 9 PM. Unlike Dhurandhar 2, the ticket prices were economical, but the shows were limited. According to early estimates, Bhooth Bangla has earned Rs 3.50 crore with paid previews. The official data from the production house is awaited. Paid previews of Bhooth Bangla started at 9 PM and 9.30 PM across various theatres. Normal shows for the film are now screening globally from today (April 17).

Dhurandhar 2, the early collection was decent. In the past,
Stree 2 earned Rs 9 crore through paid previews, whereas
Dhurandhar 2 did a business of Rs 43 crore. Other films, such as
Chennai Express, earned around Rs 6 crore.
Bhooth Bangla story
Bhooth Bangla is the story of Mangalpur and its resident demon Vadhusur. Centuries-old mysteries, myths, secrets and realities are hidden in the quiet, ghostly town. Dr Vasudev Acharya (Jisshu Sengupta) is a scholar of the Vedas and Hindu scriptures. He has two children, son Arjun (
Akshay Kumar) and daughter Meera (Mithila Palkar), who wants to marry her boyfriend, Rahul. His family is orthodox and superstitious. The Acharya siblings invite trouble by agreeing to the marriage at their ancestral property in Mangalpur, which their grandfather left behind in Meera’s name.
Bhooth Bangla CBFC
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted the film a U/A 16+ certificate. The CBFC's Examining Committee reportedly flagged several issues in the film and ordered a specific set of changes. In addition to the changes suggested by the censor board, the makers of
Bhooth Bangla volunteered to reduce its runtime by 10 minutes. The horror comedy runs for 2 hours and 53 minutes.

Bhooth Bangla is mounted on a lavish budget of Rs 120 crore. According to various reports, Akshay has taken a significant 28.5% pay cut for the film. Still the highest-paid cast member, he has reportedly taken Rs 50 crore as a fee along with a 70 per cent share in profits as co-producer.
Tabu also took a pay cut of 16 per cent. Reportedly, she charged Rs 2.5 crore. Wamiqa Gabbi charged Rs 3 crore, whereas Paresh Rawal got Rs 2 crore. Jisshu Sengupta received Rs 1 crore and Rajpal Yadav got anywhere between Rs 1-1.5 crore.
