Duffer Brothers on character they'd like to say goodbye to in Strangers Things
In an interview with GQ Thailand, the creators were asked who they would like to say goodbye to from the Stranger Things characters. Ross replied, "It's hard. It's like picking a favourite. We love all of them. If I had to choose one, it had to be Mike, because I think when we wrote the show, Mike was the stand-in for a version of what Matt and I felt we were like when we were that age. So I don't know what we would say to him, but I would just thank him because he allowed us to relive our childhoods in a way. I miss my childhood so much, and this allowed us to escape and go back there and play for a full decade. So we just feel pretty grateful."
Matt added, "Yeah, it's got to be Mike. The first lines, the first character we wrote, the first character we came up with, was Mike. As Ross said, he's sort of a stand-in for us, so I would have to say goodbye to him.
