Titled Scam 2010 - The Subrata Roy Saga, Mehta promises to deliver top-notch entertainment with yet another intriguing real-life story series. Zoom has exclusively learnt that Hansal has kicked off the recce for Scam 2010 - The Subrata Roy Saga. Making his birthday even more special, the filmmaker spent the day working on the much-anticipated series for SonyLIV.

A source close to the development informed that Hansal is on tech recce at shoot locations for
Scam 2010 - The Subrata Roy Saga. He is currently on recce across Uttar Pradesh and the Hindi hinterland with his team. According to the source,
Scam 2010 will be bigger and grander than the previous installments. “The makers are working hard to maintain the authenticity, energy and freshness that one expects from the Scam franchise while exploring a completely new landscape geographically and creatively,” the source shared.

Scam 2010 is the dust-to-diamonds story of business tycoon, late Subrata Roy. In the early 2000s, the glamourous Roy was caught in a whirlwind of accusations ranging from chit-fund manipulations to fake investors, ultimately leading to his arrest in 2014. With approx. 25,000 crore rupees still lying unclaimed with government authorities, the repercussions of the scam continue to reverberate even today.Scam 2010 - The Subrata Roy Saga was announced officially in 2024. Who was Subrata Roy?
Subrata Roy was the founder of Sahara Group, a multibillion-dollar conglomerate with businesses. While being one of the most influential personalities in India, he was involved in activities including money laundering and running ponzi schemes. Roy was arrested in 2014 after failing to appear in court before it in connection with the Rs. 24,000 crore deposits his company had not refunded to investors. He was granted bail in 2016.
Subrata Roy death
Subrata died due to cardiorespiratory arrest following an extended battle with complications arising from metastatic malignancy, hypertension and diabetes on November 14, 2023, at age 75. Subrata is survived by his wife, Swapna Roy, and two sons, Sushanto Roy and Seemanto Roy. They did not attend his funeral as they reside outside of India.
