Ali Mughal on Border 2 fight scene with Varun Dhawan
Speaking exclusively to us, Ali admitted that his fight sequence with
Varun was 'intense' and 'difficult' as it required a lot of prep. "It was almost a 3-minute fight sequence. I rehearsed that (choreography by action director) a lot. I rehearsed a lot with the fight guys. I remember when we were shooting in Babina, I had gone 2 or 4 days earlier. And for 2-3 days, I was just practising, because it's a long sequence. So, it was a 3-minute choreography. I had to remember everything for 3 months," he shared.
Although Ali has done action in movies, the actor revealed he never shot a long action sequence for a project. "The biggest challenge in this was not to hurt each other. You are not fighting actually. But it's like, you are pretty intense in that particular moment. And the hardest part was, when we were practising, we were doing it on the mattress." He further mentioned, "And when we were actually shooting, we were doing it on a hard and rocky surface inside the trenches, in the dust and mud. It was not like you can fall anywhere in the open ground, so you had a very limited, small part of the ground." The actor added that his fight sequence with Varun was shot inside the trenches, which are generally narrow and one can only walk there. Moreover, the trenches are also used for passing the ammunition during wars.
