of the much-awaited films of 2026, Cocktail 2’s trailer is finally out on social media, and as expected, it has been getting mixed to positive reactions from the masses. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, the Cocktail 2 trailer is going viral on social media, and netizens have started speculating about its storyline. While the trailer shows a strong bond of friendship between Kriti and Rashmika’s characters, some viewers feel that the film has a lesbian love story. Now, the makers have broken the silence on it.

Cocktail 2 Makers React To Lesbian Love Story Report

At the launch of the Cocktail 2 trailer, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon discussed their bond and recalled their first meeting. Rashmika said that they met in the gym and since then, share a strong bond of friendship. When Shahid Kapoor pulled their legs by stating that they looked like a couple in the film, Kriti Sanon reacted to his statement. Kriti Sanon said, “It's really sad. Like he said, if there are two boys, people will call it romance. But if there are two girls, people will think either they have a rivalry or something else. They somehow don't believe that they can be friends.”

Director Homi Adajania also stated that he would have loved to make a lesbian love story with Kriti and Rashmika after seeing their bond on the set. He said, “On the set, Kriti and Rashmika would have a lot of fun. They definitely get a little cuddly with each other since they are friends. We hypothetically thought, what if the story were about them and Shahid was the third wheel driving that grouping? I wouldn't have minded making a film on such a story.” Eventually, the producer Dinesh Vijan clarified that Cocktail 2 doesn’t have a lesbian love story. He said, “I just want to clarify that the trailer has two loves, an old one and a new one, along with this Luv (Luv Ranjan).”
