Mohanlal's Mother Santhakumari Passes Away At 90

actor Mohanlal's mother Santhakumari has passed away. She was 90. Santhakumari breathed her last at her home in Elamakkara, Ernakulam district Kerala, on Tuesday, December 30. She had been ailing for the past few months, owing to neurological disorders. The death was confirmed by doctors at Amrita Hospital, where she had been taking treatment.

Mohanlal's Mother Santhakumari Passes Away

A native of Elanthoor village in Pathanamthitta district, Mohanlal's mother relocated to Thiruvananthapuram with her family after her husband Viswanathan Nair’s got a job. He was a former bureaucrat who served as law secretary with the Kerala government. Santhakumari lived in their family home in Thiruvananthapuram until Mohanlal moved her into their Ernakulamhome after she reportedly suffered a stroke. Mohanlal was in Kochi when Santhakumari passed away and rushed to her house soon after learning about the tragic news.

This year, after receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award he met his Santhakumari. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, he also shared an old photo featuring him and his mother. Just as people celebrate Mohanlal, several from the film industry also held affection for his mother, who made a massive impact in his life. She was a steady source of inspiration for Mohanlal throughout his career. He often credited her for his successes and achievements. He has always expressed his love and affection for his mother in his speeches and social media posts.

Her mortal remains will reportedly be taken to Thiruvananthapuram later in the day. Mohanlal is the youngest of Santhakumari and Viswanathan Nair’s two children. She lost her elder son, Pyarelal, in 2000.On the work front, Mohanlal was last seen in Vrusshabha which released in theatres on 25 December.
