Mammootty's high-anticipated film Kalamkaval, co-staring Vinayakan, was set to release on 27 November. However, now there is a change in the release date, as the makers have announced that the film has
been postponed. The announcement was made on Thursday through Mammootty Kampany’s official social media channels.
Mammootty's Kalamkaval Gets Postponed
The post by the makers read "Delayed, NOT Diminished. We hear you... The wait is noted. The Venom Beneath Will Arrive Soon !! #Kalamkaval Release Postponed , New Release Date will be Announced Soon !!".
Several reports suggest that the delay in OTT and satellite deal signing led to the film's delay. However, an official confirmation about the new release date is still pending.Directed by debutant Jithin K Jose, who earlier wrote the story for Dulquer Salmaan's Kurup, Kalamkaval reportedly features Mammootty in a morally ambiguous role opposite Vinayakan’s police character. Dies Irae-fame Jibin Gopinath also appears in a key supporting role. The screenplay is jointly written by Jithin and Jishnu Sreekumar.
The technical crew includes cinematographer Faisal Ali, editor Praveen Prabhakar, music director Mujeeb Majeed, and production designer Shajie Naduvil. Mammootty Kampany is backing the film with distribution in Kerala is by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films. The production house had recently received a U/A 16+ certification for the film.
