that rising music sensation Sai Abhyankkar has joined the project as the composer. Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and produced by Wunderbar Films in association with RTake Studios, the film brings together a promising team. Sai Abhyankkar, who rose to fame with viral Tamil hits such as Aasa Kooda and Oorum Blood, described the collaboration as a dream come true.

Pooja Hegde may play the female lead in D55, though the makers have not issued an official confirmation yet. The project was initially planned under the Gopuram Films banner,
led by Anbuchezhiyan and Sushmita Anbuchezhiyan, before production shifted to Wunderbar Films in collaboration with RTake Studios.

While specific story details remain under wraps, the director has earlier shared insights into the film’s core theme. He revealed that unlike his previous film Amaran, which focused on a decorated hero, D55 will shine a light on unsung heroes who quietly exist within society, with the protagonist representing one such individual. This premise has further piqued curiosity around the film.
Dhanush had a packed year in 2025 with three releases, including Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa, his fourth directorial venture Idli Kadai, and Aanand L Rai’s Tere Ishk Mein. In 2026 he will be seen in Kara, directed by Por Thozhil filmmaker Vignesh Raja, followed by an untitled project with Mari Selvaraj.
