Sonali
Bendre and her husband, filmmaker Goldie Behl, have reportedly been accused of fraud and violation of regulations in connection with a land deal involving approximately 30 gunthas of land in Maval tehsil of Pune. Local farmer Chandrakant Shinde accused the celebrity couple of illegally acquiring the rights of their ancestral land. However, the actress and her lawyers have denied such allegations.
Sonali Bendre reacts to land fraud allegations
According to an
NDTV report, Sonali Bendre denied the allegations levelled against her and her husband, Goldie Behl, by a Pune-based farmer. She revealed that
her name does not appear in any government documents or land sale-purchase papers. She called the allegations baseless and said they have been levelled solely with the motive of extorting money. On the other hand, the farmer has filed a petition regarding this alleged fraud matter in the Civil Court of Vadgaon Maval. The farmer and his family claimed that they held legal rights to the 30-guntha plot of land, which is approximately 32,000 square feet, located in Uksan before the year 1957. Shinde also mentioned in his complaint that an attempt was made to carry out illegal construction on the land in question and that his family was threatened.
Chandrakant Shinde has also filed a formal complaint with the police. However, since it was a civil matter, the courts were subsequently approached. The farmer has requested the court to put a stay order on this land.
