Dacoit is releasing in theatres on April 10, 2026, amid the Dhurandhar 2 wave at the box office. In a recent interview, Anurag praised Ranveer Singh and said that the actor has a talent to play any character with a conviction. He recalled how Ranveer stapled his stomach to feel the pain of the gunshot in the Lootera climax. Kashyap’s revelation left Mrunal Thakur and Adivi Sesh in shock. For the unversed, the filmmaker produced the film, which also starred Sonakshi Sinha as the female lead.

Ranveer Singh has been receiving a lot of praise for his performance in Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar The Revenge as Hamza Ali Mazari, aka Jaskirat Singh Rangi. Anurag Kashyap, who produced Ranveer’s Lootera, praised his conviction for the film during an interview with Miss Malini. Anurag revealed that nobody knew about his action until the shot was over. He was taken to hospital from the helicopter. “The film didn’t do the numbers of Dhurandhar. It is that man’s conviction and his thing for the craft that he didn’t tell anyone, and nobody could know until he could not get up,” Kashyap revealed.
