Krishnavataram,
headlined by Siddharth Gupta and Sanskruti Jayana, released in theatres on May 7 with positive word of mouth. The first part of the trilogy was titled Hridayam, or The Heart, which has been declared tax-free in Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, made the official announcement on X. Krishnavataram also stars Sushmitha Bhat, Nivaashiyni Krishnan and others in pivotal roles. The decision to declare the film tax-free came after Uttar Pradesh CM Adityanath watched it with the cast and makers at a special screening on Sunday, May 10.

Krishnavataram was also attended by Sanskruti’s grandmother, Anandiben Patel, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh and former Chief Minister of Gujarat. Producer Sajan Raj Kurup, director Hardik Gajjar, lead actors Siddharth and Sanskruti, along with producers Shobha Sant and Poonam Shroff Gajjar, were at the event with CM Adityanath.
Impressed by the efforts put into making
Krishnavataram, the CM reportedly directed the Information Department to organise special screenings of the film in every district so that children and young people could connect with Indian culture and heritage. Sharing pictures from the Lucknow screening of

CM Adityanath honoured the entire team of the mythological drama.

Krishnavataram is reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 50 crore. Despite the modest budget, the film’s visual effects are being lauded by the audience. The film has been written by Prakash Kapadia and Raam Mori, while Ayananka Bose is the cinematographer. Krishnavataram’s India gross collection is Rs 8.93 crore, whereas its India net is Rs 7.46 crore. While the first part is titled
Hridayam, the next two installments will focus on other aspects of Krishna’s life. Reportedly, the trilogy plans to cover Krishna's life, with the final part dedicated to his soul and the Bhagavad Gita.
