The leak has created a major stir in the Tamil film industry, especially given that this project is being positioned as Vijay’s last film before he shifts focus to politics. The production house, KVN Productions, has now moved quickly on the legal front. Previously Sivakarthikeyan also reacted to the leak, and now, veteran actor Chiranjeevi has shared his support to makers' legal action.

In a post shared by the GodFather actor on X (Formerly Twitter), he shared the leak of Jana Nayagan is deeply troubling, as cinema thrives on trust, hard work, and the shared vision of countless people behind the scenes. He shared that incidents like this impact the entire industry and is a reminder of the urgent need to safeguard creative work.
He added, "I stand firmly with KVN Productions in addressing the damage and ensuring those responsible are held accountable, and urge everyone to kill piracy and support cinema."
Jana Nayagan makers to take legal action amid film leak
Earlier in the day, through their legal team, the makers KVN Productions issued a public notice confirming that action has already been initiated against those responsible for the leak. The notice made it clear that the film, directed by H. Vinoth with music by Anirudh Ravichander, is a massive investment involving several hundred crores and carries significant value across theatrical, satellite, and digital platforms.According to the statement, certain individuals illegally accessed and circulated scenes from the film, which were then widely shared across social media and messaging platforms. The makers described the situation as alarming, pointing out that such leaks pose a direct threat to the film’s release and commercial prospects.
The notice also carried a strict warning for the public. Downloading, sharing, forwarding, or even storing any leaked content from
Jana Nayagan would be a serious crime and a clear violation of copyright laws, according to the statement.Platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, torrent sites, and other digital spaces were specifically mentioned. The production house emphasised that anyone found involved would face individual legal consequences, both civil and criminal.The team has already begun proceedings against the initial source of the leak and is continuing to track others who may have participated in circulating the material. They have also urged audiences to stay away from pirated versions and avoid engaging with any such content in any form.
Jana Nayagan release in limbo
Beyond the leak, the film has already been dealing with delays.
Jana Nayagan was originally planned for a January 9 release, but ran into certification issues with the Central Board of Film Certification. After its first screening in December 2025, the judging panel allegedly suggested several cuts, which means that a U/A certificate could be given once the changes were made.Recent reports suggested that the makers are contemplating the film's release around Thalapathy Vijay's birthday on June 22. However, there is no confirmation on it yet.
