Awards 2026’s first investiture ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, last month, where the President, Droupadi Murmu, felicitated 66 recipients. Now, the remaining 65 eminent personalities, including actors like Mammootty, R Madhavan and others, will be honoured with Padma Awards at the second Civil Investiture Ceremony on June 23, 2026. Moreover, late veteran actor Satish Shah will also receive a posthumous Padma award in the second phase of the prestigious award ceremony in New Delhi. For the unversed, the President approved 131 Padma Awards, including five Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri honours.

Which Artist Will Be Honoured With Padma Awards On June 23?

The awards were announced on Republic Day, in which the Government of India recognises distinguished contributions in fields such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, literature, education, medicine, sports, trade, industry and civil service. From the world of cinema, Dharmendra (posthumous), Arvind Vaidya, Alka Yagnik, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Anil Kumar Rastogi and others received Padma Awards in the first phase of the award ceremony. On June 23, Malayalam superstar Mammootty will be honoured with Padma Bhushan for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema. The actor has acted in more than 400 films across multiple languages in his five-decade-long career. Apart from him, actor-director R Madhavan will be felicitated with Padma Shri. He is known as Maddy in the Indian film industry. He has acted in more than 75 films in Tamil, Hindi and other languages.

Telugu actor Gadde Rajendra Prasad has been selected for the Padma Shri. In his 40-year-long career, the actor appeared in more than 280 films across six languages.

Posthumous Honour For Satish Shah

Satish Shah, who passed away on October 25, 2025, in Mumbai, will also be conferred with the Padma Shri honour. He was considered one of the most popular actors in Indian cinema. Satish acted in numerous films and TV shows in his four-decade-long career. Like Satish Shah, Dharmendra was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan award after his death. His wife Hema Malini received the award on behalf of her late husband. At the ceremony, their youngest daughter, Ahana Deol broke down in tears while remembering her father. Anupamaa actor Arvind Vaidya received Padma Shri at the age of 85 for his contribution to the Indian cinema. The second phase of the Padma Awards ceremony will be a memorable one for all.
