Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest film, Thamma, included the official announcement of Maddock Horror Comedy Universe’s next offering, Shakti Shalini. Aneet Padda, who shot to fame with Saiyaara earlier this

year, will be playing the titular role. Following the announcement, Ayushmann gave a shoutout to his fellow ‘Punjabi’. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Khurrana praised her for choosing a performance-oriented role with Shakti Shalini.

Ayushmann said, “I'm glad that she's part of this universe. That's why I greeted her and welcomed her. I'm very excited about what she's going to do next after Saiyaara. I'm glad she's chosen a performance-oriented role with a film like Shakti Shalini. He wrote, “Welcome to the MHCU, @aneetpadda… Punjabi aa gaye oye!! From one dreamer to another - keep chasing what you want. Nothing is impossible.. so proud to see someone from Punjab making us all proud.. Can’t wait to see you shine in Shakti Shalini! Onwards and upwards, Aneet.” Aneet responded by writing, “Khurrana ji da munda is making waves like always, thank you so much, it's a little extra special coming from someone I look up to so much. So so grateful for the warm welcome @ayushmannk.”
