Meta-owned platform Instagram is finally addressing one of those small but annoying problems users have complained about for years. The popular social media platform has rolled out a new feature that lets you edit your comments after posting them, so that embarrassing typo or awkward sentence doesn’t have to live forever. As announced by the US-based tech giant, users now get a 15-minute window to tweak their comments. That means if you spot a mistake right after hitting “post,” you don’t need to delete everything and start over. You can simply edit it. And yes, you can make multiple changes within that time if needed.A Small Change That Actually MattersIt might sound like a minor update, but for creators and active users, this could be a big
quality-of-life improvement. Instagram says the feature is designed to make interactions smoother, especially for those who reply to dozens of comments and don’t always get it perfect on the first try.Until now, the only option was to delete a comment and repost it, which could break the flow of a conversation. This new option keeps things intact while giving users a bit of breathing room. There is a catch, though. Instagram has clarified that only the text part of a comment can be edited. So if your comment includes a photo along with text, only the written portion can be changed. Also, while others will see that a comment has been edited, they won’t be able to view the earlier versions.Instagram Plus?Alongside this update, the tech giant is reportedly experimenting with something bigger. According to leaks, Instagram is testing a paid subscription called Instagram Plus in select regions. This premium offering is expected to bring a set of new features, particularly around Stories. Users may be able to view Stories anonymously, check how many people rewatched their posts, and even create unlimited audience lists beyond the usual Close Friends option. There are a few other interesting additions in the mix, too. Reports suggest that Stories could stay live for up to 48 hours instead of the usual 24, and users might get the ability to highlight one Story per week at the top of followers’ feeds. There’s even talk of animated “Superlikes” to boost engagement.
