Marty Supreme ending explained
Timothée's Marty Supreme has a nail-biting climax. Scenes leading upto the climax highlight how Marty struggles to gather money to travel Tokyo for a Table Tennis championship. In a bizarre turn of events involving a bathtub incident with criminal Ezra, Marty Mauser loses Ezra's dog. It is followed by Marty losing out on yesteryear star Kay Stone's expensive necklace to a corrupt officer after they're caught having s*x in public.
What happens next? In a desperate attempt, Marty and his girlfriend Rachel try to steal cash but they are caught in a shootout with criminal Ezra. Unfortunately, Marty's pregnant girlfriend gets shot and is admitted to the hospital. On the other hand, the aspiring table tennis champion begs Kay's husband, Rockwell, to offer him the job again.A few scenes later, Marty lands in Tokyo for an exhibition match with Japanese table tennis champion Koto Endo for Rockwell's pen company. He soon realises that the table tennis championship members won't allow him to play a real match. Hence, the exhibition match is Marty's last chance to prove he is better than Endo.
Considering it a promotional exhibition match, Marty doesn't perform to his fullest and loses to Endo. He then demands rematch with him. And that's when he flips the script and wins the table tennis match, defeating Endo.
Marty Supreme movie review
Meanwhile, Times Now gave
3.5 star rating to Marty Supreme. Praising Timothee Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow's performances, the critic wrote, "Timothée Chalamet is undoubtedly the star of Marty Supreme. He clearly stands out with his hard-hitting performance in Josh Safdie's sports comedy drama. He plays Marty with enough charm to pull you along. The actor makes the character feel real rather than designed. Gwyneth Paltrow is just fine as Kay Stone. She brings required grace and dignity while playing a yesteryear star."Are you planning to watch Marty Supreme? Tweet @TimesNow and share your thoughts on X.
