It: Welcome to Derry premieres Episode 2 early for Halloween
On social media, the series announced, "Trick or treat. Don’t miss an early release of Episode 2 on Halloween. Episode 1 of #ITWelcomeToDerry is now streaming." The Halloween surprise is the perfect treat for horror fans. The episode will also premiere in the US on HBO at 9 pm ET/PT. On Friday, October 31, the show will first be available on HBO Max at 12 am PT/3 am ET.
The synopsis for the prequel series states, "In 1962, a couple with their son move to Derry, Maine just as a young boy disappears. With their arrival, very bad things begin to happen in the town." The period drama is set in the same universe as Stephen King's iconic horror novel It. The series was developed by filmmakers Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs. Cartaya, Amanda Christine, Matilda Lawler, Clara Stack, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso. Bill Skarsgård reprises his role as the killer clown Pennywise from the films.
