and raised in Mumbai, she had to convince people in the city that she was, in fact, from there. She also shared how adapting to different film industries helped her find the perfect balance between her two worlds.Tamannaah Bhatia On Entering South CinemaIn an interview with Filmfare, Bhatia shared, "When I started working down South, I was extremely young. If I had to really do a lot of South Indian films, learning the language was going to be critical. And, every language also has its own kind of mannerism. Those I learnt by talking to the native speakers of the language. The most important thing was to understand the culture in the South because I had grown up and done my schooling in Mumbai. If I had to really represent them correctly, then I had to definitely understand that and embody that culture."Tamannaah Bhatia Recalls 'Really Difficult' In BollywoodHaving built a strong foothold in the South at a very young age, she initially found it a bit difficult to establish herself in Bollywood. She said, "Meanwhile, I had grown up watching Hindi films so I understood that culture. By the end of it, I had a good balance of the two. But yes, initially, what was really difficult when I started to do Hindi films. I had worked for almost 10, 12 years at that point of time in the South. I had such a strong sort of appeal in the South that I had to really tell people in Mumbai that I'm actually from Mumbai."The Aaj Ki Raat diva mentioned that both places hold equal importance for her; one being her karma bhoomi and the other, her birthplace.
