Real reason behind the title Animal Park
Speaking during a virtual press meet ahead of
Animal’s Japan premiere, Vanga not only confirmed the timeline but also explained the thought behind the intriguing title of the second part. During the interaction, Sandeep Reddy Vanga revealed that
Animal Park will begin production after he completes his current film
Spirit. The director shared that the sequel will expand the universe introduced in
Animal and take the conflict to a much larger scale. According to him, the title
Animal Park reflects the presence of multiple “animals” in the story, with Aziz emerging as another dominant force.
Sandeep Said, "There will be more animals because Aziz is another animal." Vanga further added that the clash between these two characters is the core reason behind the title, suggesting a space where multiple dangerous personalities coexist and collide. He stated, "So, keeping that in mind, it's a war between the two brothers now, who also look alike. So I thought Animal Park will be the right title." While fans were hoping for filming to begin soon, the director clarified that
Animal Park is currently planned to go on floors towards the end of 2027.
Ranbir Kapoor excited to play double role
Ranbir Kapoor also shared his excitement about returning to the franchise. The actor said he is eagerly looking forward to getting back on set with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and revisiting the character, while also stepping into the shoes of Aziz. Ranbir revealed that Vanga already had the story of the sequel clearly mapped out while filming
Animal, which made the process creatively fulfilling and inspiring for him as an actor.
He also mentioned that he and Vanga frequently stay in touch, adding, "Sandeep keep chatting with each other through the week or month and we keep discussing different ideas and I really can't wait to get back."
