Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash's Ramayana is one of the most awaited movies of this year. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the mythological epic features Ranbir as Lord Rama, Sai as Goddess Sita and Yash as demon king Ravana. While there's time for it to release, the makers have already started promoting it. On the occasion of director Nitesh Tiwari's birthday, Ramayana producer Namit Malhotra penned a heartfelt note. He also posted a video where the filmmaker shared how he reacted when he was offered to direct the mythological epic. The first part will be released on Diwali 2026.

Ranbir Kapoor, Nitesh Tiwari spoke about his first reaction to directing the film. "Intimidating, challenging, inspiring, all at the same time. Intimidating because telling a great story like Ramayana comes with a lot of moral responsibility," he said. The filmmaker mentioned that a story like Ramayana needs to be told in the right way possible with right intentions.
The director further recalled being inspired because the world presented to him was mind-blowing. He stated that there was never 'ounce of doubt' in his mind that they wouldn't be able to achieve it. Nitesh added that when there's a story like Ramayana with the backing of Namit and DNEG, one just grabs their opportunity. And that's how his journey on Ramayana begun six years ago. "I can say that it's been a fantastic ride. I don't think I could have taken a better decision," he shared.

While sharing this video his official X (formerly Twitter handle), Namit extended best wishes to the filmmaker. The producer admitted that working with Nitesh closely on this project had been one of the best experiences of his life. He mentioned that there's a lot to learn from him and see how he deals with everything with clarity calm. "Your understanding of the subject to your ease of telling the story and bringing it to life is incredibly fascinating and I really appreciate your approach in partnering with everyone with so much dignity and grace," he added.
