In a conversation with us, Mukesh Khanna reacted to
Samay Raina mentioning him and spoke about how content is consumed today. He said there are always two sides, the performer and the viewer, and in the digital space, anything that is freely available will automatically attract an audience. "There are two perspectives, ek dekhne wala aur ek actor… free mein milta hai toh log kyun nahi dekhenge?"
He pointed out that massive view counts don’t mean the content is meaningful."Usko 15 million views mil gaye… par ye criteria nahi hai." According to him, people are drawn to controversy, which is why such content spreads faster. However, he stressed that creators must understand their influence on young audiences."Hum desh ke bachchon aur youngsters ko affect karte hain."Khanna also recalled turning down The Kapil Sharma Show despite being invited, as he didn’t agree with its style. Instead, he launched his own show and maintained that interviews can be conducted with dignity."Below the belt jaane ki zarurat nahi hai." He criticised what he called “commercial drama,” saying creators chase views and money without thinking about the impact. "Kamai ke liye youth ko kharab kiya ja raha hai… zameer hona chahiye."

Khanna also expressed shock at the kind of language being normalised online and reacted to Ranveer Allahbadia's controversial joke on India's Got Latent episode. He stated, Maa-baap ke baare mein aise shabd bolna galat hai… log hans rahe the, mujhe shock laga." He went on to react on comments about Shaktimaan harming children, Khanna strongly rejected the claim. "Koi haq nahi banta bolne ka… bachche kabhi nahi mare the. Wo afwah thi, aur main case jeet chuka hoon." He said an entire generation grew up watching
Shaktimaan and benefited from it."Ek poori generation is show ke saath badi hui hai."
Mukesh Khanna's reaction to Samay Raina's Amitabh Bachchan joke
Khanna also took issue with jokes involving Amitabh Bachchan and referenced George Orwell, saying humour should have purpose."
Khamakha wo mere se panga le raha hai. Amit ji (Amitabh Bachchan) se panga le raha hai. I was upset when he quoted George Orwell, one of the greats, who said that 'joke is a mini revolution.' He (Samay) thinks that it was a joke. 'Your joke about Amitabh Bachchan will bring revolution? Your joke about Shaktimaan revolution will bring revolution? Why are you quoting something which you not doing?' He added, "The purpose of Orwell's quote was to bring changes in society through jokes. What this sir doing? Amitabh Bachchan couldn't support his son. You making joke?' People are standing up with him. Kyu kar raha hai kya kar raha hai - I'm not going to let him go away - uske 1.5 million fans bhi mere khilaf ho gaye because they are fans they are bound to support him. When people say they troll me, they will - wo chamche hai unke."

About Still Alive
Earlier this week, Samay Raina dropped
Still Alive, a YouTube stand-up special that many are calling his most honest and daring work so far. The performance mixed sharp humour with personal reflection, touching on his break from the spotlight and the ups and downs of internet fame, what it takes to build an identity online, how quickly it can fall apart, and the vulnerability he experienced through it.
