Dhurandhar is a “quantum leap for Hindi cinema,” according to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. It left producer Karan Johar “blown away,” while directors Madhur Bhandarkar and Sanjay Gupta have also lauded the Aditya Dhar-helmed actioner. Now, another noted filmmaker has shared his take on 2025’s biggest blockbuster. Sriram Raghavan, who is gearing up for the release of Ikkis, watched and enjoyed Dhurandhar. However, he said it’s not a film he would ever make. The director, known for Ek Hasina Thi (2004), Johnny Gaddaar (2007), Agent Vinod (2012), Badlapur (2015), and Andhadhun (2018), said he loves watching Dhar’s films but doesn’t want to follow the same format.Sriram Raghavan On DhurandharIn an interview with The Hindu, Raghavan said, “It is a well-made
film with terrific performances, but it is not our kind of film. We must understand that we are living in different times. Dhurandhar is one movie. It is doing spectacularly well, and it should. But this is not the only format. If I start following it, it will be the silliest thing to do.”“He (Aditya) has a different kind of sensibility and craft, and I love watching his films, but it is not something I would make.”Ikkis vs DhurandharDhurandhar, which arrived in cinemas on December 5, set the box office on fire!
