The actor-director revealed that Bollywood star Aamir Khan personally congratulated Suriya after watching the film's success unfold. He also shared an interesting behind-the-scenes detail, disclosing that Suriya was initially reluctant to deliver a dialogue about Mookuthi Amman.

Speaking to Cinema Vikatan, RJ Balaji revealed that Karuppu received appreciation from several key celebrities in the film industry after its release. He revealed that Aamir Khan sent a congratulatory message to Suriya, who later forwarded it to him. RJ Balaji also said that actor Silambarasan TR personally called to wish him, while several leading directors reached out to praise the film. Interestingly, Aamir Khan shares a long-standing connection with Suriya's blockbuster film, having starred in the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Ghajini.

The director said that Suriya was initially uncomfortable with the line and repeatedly expressed his reluctance to perform it. Even a week before the film's release, the actor suggested removing the dialogue from the final cut.
