Janhvi Kapoor is currently in advanced discussions to star opposite Shahid in the untitled project. Although, the makers of the film are yet to make an official comment on this, the news has already created a buzz online. Report say that the film will be a young age rom-com, which is going to be a mix of humour with emotional moments. If the casting is finalised, this will be the first time Shahid Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor share screen space in a feature film.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Janhvi Kapoor is presently in discussions with the makers to come on board as the female lead opposite Shahid Kapoor. Sources quoted in the article suggested that the project is envisioned as an out-and-out comedy with a youthful tone and modern relationship dynamics at its core.

The film is expected to bring Shahid Kapoor back to the romantic comedy space after a considerable gap. The report states that he is really enthusiastic for this re-make, especially under the vision of Amit Sharma’s direction, given the filmmaker’s reputation for balancing humour with emotional storytelling. Amit Sharma, who has previously directed successful films including Badhaai Ho and Maidaan, is expected to bring a mix of warmth and comedy to the upcoming project.
