OpenAI Says Hackers Stole Some Data After Latest Code Security Issue

Just a couple of days ago, OpenAI confirmed that two employees had their devices impacted by an attack in which hackers hijacked several open-source projects used by dozens of firms and pushed updates designed to spread malware. Now, after an investigation, it has been revealed that OpenAI has found no evidence that the user data was accessed. A blog post by OpenAI read, 'no evidence that OpenAI user data was accessed, that our production systems or intellectual property were compromised, or that our software was altered.'OpenAI also stated that the employees' devices were compromised by a previous attack on TanStack, a popular open source library that helps developers build web applications. a postmortem suggesting that hackers published 84 malicious versions of its software during a six minute window. The project said a researcher detected the attack within 20 minutes. Some of the previous supply-chain hacks have been triggered by a hacking gang dubbed TeamPCP, a strange group that itself faced hacking risk.
