Amazon has introduced its new smart display the Echo Show 8 in India. The new device is designed to be at the heart of your connected home experience, bringing together powerful Alexa intelligence, immersive audio and advanced smart home control in a compact, premium form factor. Amazon had first launched the device at its global event in New York last year in October. The India variant of the device retains most features from the global variant except Alexa+. While the device is compatible with Alexa+, Amazon is yet to introduce that in India and hasn’t officially given a timeline on the same either. The Echo Show 8 comes with an 8.7-inch HD display (800 x 1340) that’s perfect for video calls, streaming content, checking recipes or monitoring

your home at a glance. It is at the centre of the entire smart home experience while attached speaker is wrapped in a premium 3D knit fabric finish which ensures that device seamlessly blends into modern Indian homes or workplaces.

The device is powered by Amazon’s new AZ3 Pro chipset, paired with Vega OS, ensuring faster responses, smoother visuals and a more natural Alexa experience. With this device, Amazon is also trying to provide a more immersive sound experience. So, the Echo Show 8 comes with a three-channel speaker system featuring a 2.8-inch woofer and dual full-range drivers that deliver rich and room-filing sound with support for Spatial Audio. This is combined with Automatic Room Adaptation (RAD) which ensures that the device intelligently tunes audio based on room acoustics, ensuring balanced sound whether it’s placed in a bedroom, living room or kitchen.

The Echo Show 8 is also a powerful smart home hub, with built-in support for Zigbee, Matter over Wi-Fi and Matter over Thread, eliminating the need for an external hub.
